Artist Statement:

I wanted to create an experience for the viewer that transports them to a place where they can begin the process of healing. The cloth of burden begins unraveling while the outreached hand represents vulnerability.

About Cameron Stalheim

Cameron Stalheim is an artist living and working in Sioux Falls, SD. After completing his BFA in Fine Arts at the University of South Dakota, he was commissioned by his alma mater to create the Coyote Statue on campus. Soon after, he moved to Baltimore to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art where he earned his MFA. Stalheim has since worked in Aruba, completed his second public commission, and is now expanding his sculptural techniques into the digital realm.
