Is This Yours?

Jamie Weinfurter
Wisconsin
Materials: Glass, wood & metal frame
Selling Price: $5,000

Artist Statement:

Part of a series of three, the industrialized columns are reclaimed through roses as transformative femininity. Titled with varying degrees of personally asked sexist questions, "Is This Yours?" โ€‹is the cumulative third pillar in the series. Defined by acceptance and self-confidence, the question in the title poses no immediate stereotypes or sexist comments. The traditionally masculine materials equalize within the piece to validate Weinfuter as a female sculptor and explore her own gender and identity.
